But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
If you look at them through the eyes of Christ, you can see past the harshness and anger in their faces...
Some Statistics...

According to a 1997 report, 4.4% of American teenagers have tried meth (and that number has increased at least 30% since then).
He who is slothful in his work is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.
Proverbs 18:9
An absence of discipline is a universal characteristic of an addicts lifestyle. One of the purposes of the rigid routine of Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Ranch is to negate this characteristic.
"Free-time", by societies definition of the term, does not exist at the Ranch. In other words, the Ranch Resident is never left to their "own devices". At the Ranch, free time is a time utilized by the Resident to write personal letters, catch up on assignments they have not completed, or complete extra assignments that have been given for disciplinary purposes. On a rare occasion a nap or a walk around the Ranch property is permitted, but as a rule this time is used in a more productive manner.
Of greatest importance is education, or to use a Biblical term, instruction. Proverbs 4:13 tells us "Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life." The Ranch approach to instruction is multifaceted incorporating a number of Bible Studies with important life application classes in a variety of subjects ranging from financial affairs to sewing.
Chores are an integral part of the Resident’s day. Though necessary to the day to day functioning of the facility, chores serve a greater purpose; they provide a framework for understanding the need for discipline in one’s daily life. Doing the dishes, laundry and house cleaning are critical to a well ordered, drug free life and these are tasks that don’t just get done…someone must do them!

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
I John 3:17 & 18
"If you want to raise a man from mud and filth, do not think it is enough to keep standing on top and reaching down to him a helping hand. You must go all the way down yourself, and then take hold of him with strong hands and pull him and yourself out into the light."
